experiment

So, I'm lucky enough to get to use a Cintiq at work (for those of you who don't know, it's basically a computer monitor you can draw directly on) It gave me the idea of seeing if I can't duplicate pencil and ink drawings. So I tried this... It turned out pretty well, so I tried another one that turned out better. But that one's not done so you get this for now. Anyways, this is my first ever completely digital drawing... I think it looks pretty un-digital, wadda you think?

looks great.

i think i remember saying something about you drawing directly on the computer since your pencils are so tight at the con last year-

might have been after a few beers- but i'm pretty sure i said something like that

Was using the tablet a faster process than traditional pencil and paper/ink? Will the next comic be drawn on a tablet PC?

Hmmm... The character is the central figure in Adam's and my comic called 100 Girls. Check out the 2 trades, just give 'er a google. Or there's a link here too... As for the drawing, I did draw it using sketchbook. it's fun. As for being faster, the actual physical drawing is about the same as usual, though there are technical things that would be faster, (sizing, copying and pasting, etc., etc...) as well as fixing the usual fuck-ups being easier. All in all, I'd say the total process once I get everything down might speed me up around 15%. Which is pretty good. And less paper, which is nice for the hippy in me. And no running out of ink or pencils or paper at inopportune moments. Or having to scan 24 pages into the computer. Actually, I can't wait to get a Cintiq of my own. So, yes Adam, the next series will probably be drawn in the computer. Crazy. William, we were drunk. I have no recollection of such a conversation. Sorry.

its cool- lol- we were talking about how long it was going to take for you to do the next series, and i asked if it would be faster just to do it digitally.

good times.

i think it was during our first sampler of beers.

it really is a lot faster once you get the hang of it,
i can't wait to get a cintiq, hopefully later this year.

there is no way i would know you did this digitally.
